Do you have a daily ritual?

How good is it to do something every day that nurtures your body, your mind and your soul? Something that sets the intention for the day, and at the same time, you are showing yourself lots of love!

Here is a morning and evening ritual I’d love to share with you, which I love doing every day.

Morning Ritual:

The minute you wake up, you say ‘Thanks’. Be grateful for having another day to play, to enjoy and to experience. Sit on the side of your bed, grab a pen and paper, or your favourite journal or notebook, and write the answers to the following questions:

  • What do I want to experience today?
  • How do I want to feel today?
  • What do I want to learn today?
  • Who do I need to be today?
  • What am I aligning myself with today?

Once you have written this down, you can either continue writing for 10-15 minutes (If you’d like to know more about  journaling, I love ‘The Artist’s Way’, a book by Julia Cameron, who invites you to do ‘morning pages’).

Or get ready to go about your day.

Evening Ritual:

This part I find equally important as the morning ritual. You are able to keep track of progress.

In your journal, read through the answers of your morning questions, and review if all that what you wanted to experience, actually were experienced during the day. If they haven’t been; what can you do differently the next day. Make a note of this.

And then the next day you do the same, until this becomes a habit; a powerful, self nurturing and serving habit.

In addition to this ritual, I also ask every day:

  • What oils are needed for me to diffuse today to serve me and my work?
  • What card deck do I play with today to receive guidance, messages or answers?
